House edge is the price tag on a game, shown as a percentage of every peso you stake. It does not tell you what happens tonight. It tells you what happens on average when thousands of rounds are pooled, and it decides how long a budget lasts.
House edge and RTP: the same number, two sides
RTP is return to player, the share paid back. House edge is the share kept. They always add up to 100 percent.
- Edge of 2.70 percent means RTP of 97.30 percent.
- Edge of 7.87 percent means RTP of 92.13 percent.
- Edge of 14.36 percent means RTP of 85.64 percent.
Quick check: studios publish RTP for slots, but a table game sets its cost through payouts and chances, which is why you work out the edge from the rules.
Table game edges side by side
Figures are standard arithmetic for common rules. A table with different payouts has a different edge, so confirm it on the game’s panel.
| Game and bet | Edge |
|---|---|
| Blackjack, basic strategy | about 0.5% |
| Baccarat, Banker (5% commission) | 1.06% |
| Baccarat, Player | 1.24% |
| Roulette, single zero | 2.70% |
| Sicbo, Big or Small | 2.78% |
| Dragon Tiger, Dragon or Tiger | 3.7% to 7.5% |
| Roulette, double zero | 5.26% |
| Color Game, classic payouts | 7.87% |
| Dragon Tiger, Tie at 11 to 1 | about 10.4% |
| Baccarat, Tie at 8 to 1 | 14.36% |
Each figure comes from the rules on its own page: Banker and Tie baccarat maths, single-zero roulette pockets, sicbo payouts, the Color Game dice, Dragon Tiger Tie pay and blackjack basic strategy.
How to work out an edge yourself
Use one formula for any bet: edge = 1 minus (chance of winning x total returned on a win, stake included).
Take the Color Game as the example. One die matching returns 2 units total with a chance of 75 in 216, two dice return 3 with 15 in 216, three dice return 4 with 1 in 216. Add them: 150 + 45 + 4 = 199 in 216. The edge is 17 in 216, about 7.87 percent.
Edge in pesos: expected cost
Expected cost = edge x total staked. Total staked is the bet size times the number of rounds, not your balance.
| Bet size | Rounds | Total staked | Cost at 2.78% | Cost at 14.36% |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ₱20 | 100 | ₱2,000 | ₱56 | ₱287 |
| ₱100 | 50 | ₱5,000 | ₱139 | ₱718 |
The average hides the swing. In one session you may win ₱1,000 or lose ₱2,000, and the edge simply stays in the background of both.
What a low edge cannot do
No bet system changes the edge. Doubling after a loss, following streaks or switching bets all leave it where the rules put it. What does change the outcome is how many rounds you play, which is why fast games cost more per hour.
The GG Panalo lobby lists software table titles from JILI and Rich88, and JILI publishes no RTP, so those editions show no sourced return here. Read each game’s info screen, and use the login pages, lobby versus partner and register pages, lobby versus partner to reach the lobby, the download notes on app shortcuts for shortcuts and the GCash casino wallet position for wallet limits. Every game guide is linked from the live casino game guides.
